How we work

Bidirectional translation — both directions

Every language pair is supported in both directions. English → French and French → English are coordinated by the same project manager, with native translators for the target language and a second specialist review where risk, scope or application requires it. For courts, notaries and government bodies, we deliver — where required — sworn translations via professionally recognised translators (UK ITI/CIOL members or destination-country register).

What is a language pair?
A language pair is a combination of two languages between which we translate — for example English-French (EN ↔ FR) or English-Tigrinya (EN ↔ TI). We support every pair in both directions by using native translators for the target language. For rare combinations, we coordinate via French or German as a pivot where appropriate.
Does sworn / certified status apply to the whole pair or only one direction?
Sworn / certified status is always direction-specific. For EN → FR, the translator must be registered for that combination (ITI or CIOL in the UK; expert près la cour for the FR destination). In practice, we work with translators registered for both directions, but we always confirm the correct registration in the quote depending on the destination authority.
What documents are typical for EN → FR?
For EN → FR we often see: commercial contracts and SPAs, annual reports for parent companies in France, technical manuals for export, personal documents for immigration or work visas (birth certificates, diplomas, extracts), notarial deeds and prenuptial agreements. For FR → EN we see Home Office documents, international contracts, and commercial correspondence. Per document type we confirm whether sworn / certified status is required.
What if I need a rare combination?
For rare combinations without a direct translator pair, we coordinate via a pivot language (often French or German), with full transparency about the intermediate step. For combinations with humanitarian context, we look for a direct specialist where possible; pivot is used only where quality and availability justify it.
How fast will I receive a quote for a language pair?
We respond within 1 hour on working days with a no-obligation quote. For bidirectional projects you receive one consolidated quote with price per direction. Rush jobs are possible — the realistic deadline is confirmed in the quote.
Do you also translate single languages (not as a pair)?
Per language, we have a dedicated overview page with dialect strip, sector fit, citation entities and FAQ. Visit the languages overview to find the specific page for your target language.
